Dorado BayLooking out to see we have on the right hand side a dive called Dorado Bay, named after the hotel near by. Entry is by way of the rocks, just a short walk from the dive centre. As soon as you enter the water there are hundreds of reef fish all around you!!
There are a number of caves near the entry and exit and one normally has our resident round ray called Ozcu. He is very shy and not the most friendly of rays, but will happy let you look at him all day.
Then following a reef roadway out to the centre of the bay there are many over hangs and ledges, here you will find all the normal types of reef life including parrot fish, Ornate Wrasse, Octopus and Cuttlefish. There are many sandy patches where during the mating season you will find Angel Sharks. Also Eagle Rays and Common Rays cruising, are often sightings. The maximum depth for this dive is 15m and it is not affected by currents, so is the perfect place for a nice easy dive.
Arguineguin BayTo the left hand side of the Dive Centre we have Arguineguin Bay. A very easy dive for beginners, with lots to see. Entry is just a short walk from the dive centre and by way of the rocks with just a simple step into the water.
It has a nice easy slop down with sand and rocky patches, with lots of places to stop and make the course skills in calm water. There are always shoals of fish around and there are NOT many times we come out without having seen 2 or 3 Octopus and Cuttlefish. Also in the mating season Angel Sharks can be seen.
At the end of the dive there is always time for a nice swim through which takes you through a ledge, so you can look up and see all the soft corals and reef above. The shoal of reef fish will part allowing you between them.
The maximum depth for this dive is 10m and it is NOT affected by currents, so is the perfect place for a nice easy dive.
We use these dive sites as part of the Padi courses, as well as making boat and shore dive to the best dives sites on the island.
